The battery is at the heart of modern electric drive concepts. Nevertheless, the resource-conserving, sustainable and climate-friendly production of battery cells remains a major challenge. There are also widespread prejudices, such as the supposedly short range of electric vehicles and the limited service life of batteries.
The current edition of the ORF science program “Mayrs Magazin - Wissen für alle” is dedicated to these topics and spoke among others with Marcus Jahn, Head of Competence Unit Battery Technologies at AIT (in German):
