SUSTAINair final conference in Vienna

Jun 11-12
Circular aviation in the EU: Andreas Kugi and Christian Chimani join the podium

The aim of the SUSTAINair project, led by the LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, is to significantly improve the climate and environmental compatibility of aircraft. This is to be achieved by developing lighter, more intelligent and functionally integrated structural and engine components. The focus is on the development of new metal and composite materials, their efficient use, innovative joining technologies, the integration of sensors in components and the recycling of materials in line with a circular economy approach.

The final conference of the project will now take place in Vienna on June 11 and 12: In addition to the SUSTAINair project partners, participants from the sister projects CAELESTIS, MORPHO, DOMMINIO, RECAL, GENEX and INFINITE are also expected to attend. Experts from industry and research from all over Europe will come together to discuss the future of sustainable aviation.

In addition to numerous other top-class presentations, AIT Managing Director Andreas Kugi and LKR Managing Director Christian Chimani will provide insights into AIT's research work.
