Machine learning is on everyone's lips. But what is behind the term? How far has research already come? What are the potentials and risks? And how can machine learning contribute to strengthening Europe as a business location? These questions were the focus of the OVE IT Colloquium 2023.
Jasmin Lampert, Senior Scientist in the Center for Digital Safety & Security gave a presentation on "Physics-informed Machine Learning for Green Applications.", where she highlighted the topic of energy efficiency in modern deep learning algorithms and used current projects in the environmental field to show how physical laws and constraints can help make algorithms more computationally efficient.
