Helmut Leopold, Head of Center for Digital Safety & Security at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, speaks about innovative cloud ecosystems as the basis for the EU economy of tomorrow, AIA-X approaches and Smart Encryption, Trust and Security by Design. Industrial initiatives such as GAIA-X and the extensive use of artificial intelligence require new approaches to data protection and data security. The lecture gives an overview of current GAIA-X activities in Europe and which aspects are important in order to establish a modern data-driven economy. Current examples also illustrate future-oriented approaches for data exchange and data processing in distributed systems in order to develop new approaches and innovative business models for the cycling economy, product life cycle and supply chain management, management of production resources and increasing production quality.
