Veronika Wilk takes over the function of Thematic Coordinator for Efficiency in Industrial Processes & Systems at the AIT Center for Energy

Since May 1st Veronika Wilk has been the new Thematic Coordinator for Efficiency in Industrial Processes & Systems at the Center for Energy. She succeeds René Hofmann, who is now strengthening the team as Principal Scientist.

In her new function, she is responsible for the strategic development of the research field Efficiency in Industrial Processes & Systems. The major topics include industrial heat pumps, industrial energy storage, design and operational optimization of industrial processes.

Veronika Wilk has been with the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology for 5 years and is project manager of the European research project DryFiciency, where the use of heat pumps for industrial processes is being investigated.

"With Veronika Wilk, we could gain an experienced expert for industrial energy systems with many years of experience in research operations. I am very much looking forward to the cooperation and further thematic development of the research field at the Center for Energy", says Wolfgang Hribernik, Head of Center for Energy.

Research Area Efficiency in Industrial Processes & Systems

The research area is concerned with technology development to increase energy efficiency, e.g. through heat recovery, the integration of renewable energy systems and the optimized use of thermal components. In addition, dynamic process models are being developed to optimise operating strategies, to make energy supply more flexible and to integrate new storage and conversion technologies.
