After the very successful Future Network/CON-ECT) "Society 5.0" event last autumn, in which the opportunities and risks were comprehensively presented and discussed, we would now like to focus on particularly topical aspects: What contribution can the Society 5.0 concept (technology-driven, but made for people) make to solving critical problems? Erwin Schoitsch and Christoph Schmittner, working at the Centre for Digital Safety & Security, highlight the problem of a lack of sustainability, a core problem that can be found in all areas such as mobility, work, housing, the environment, the economy, energy, health and care.
