RISIS WEEK 21: Extension of AIT EUPRO database on national R&D funding presented

02.02.2021

From 25th to 29th January 2021, the 18 RISIS - Research Infrastructure for Science & Innovation Policy Studies project partners met virtually to discuss about achievements and plan next strategic actions. It was a mix of plenary sessions including a round table, demo sessions and break-out sessions. The focus was on the achieved results, planning next actions, in terms of research, strategic approach, communication, dissemination and evaluation within the RISIS EU project.

AIT Senior Scientist Thomas Scherngell and his team from Center for Innovation Systems & Policy participated and gave, among other things, an overview of latest dataset developments. One key element in this respect has been the presentation of a brand-new module of the AIT EUPRO database on publicly funded European R&D projects. The so called NATPRO extension has collected data on more than 200 thousand R&D projects funded at national level in five pilot countries (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia and Italy). The extension will be of high relevance to investigate complementarities between European and national R&D funding.

In addition, new use cases were illustrated. In the last year, many new steps have been done, RISIS community is growing faster and faster to build a Research Infrastructure for Science and Innovation Policies Studies.
