As a follow-up to the well-known “Smart Grids Week Austria” which has been organized for the last 10 years by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, and the Climate and Energy Fund, the “Smart Energy Systems Week Austria – SESWA” was held in Graz.
Core topics in energy research like the system integration of energy technologies and the flexibilization of the energy system were discussed. Energy sub-systems and infrastructure (grids, buildings, transport systems, etc.) and their interaction (linking sectors, building to grid, vehicle to grid, etc.) were considered. Moreover, aspects of the institutional framework for innovation and market transition were treated as well. AIT was represented with numerous papers and posters.

At the awarding ceremony of the -“Smart Energy Systems Awards”, offered in 4 categories, AIT colleagues were successful. The “Next Generation Award” was awarded to Martin Nöhrer, the “Tech Solution Award” to Mario Faschang.
