The introduction of Smart-Grid-Technologies enabled to combine isolated components based on information technology. This process, however, faces two challenges: Firstly, interoperation between components of different system levels and/or producers has to be guaranteed. Secondly, Smart Grid has to be resistant to Cyber-Attacks. Within the initiative RASSA, AIT experts collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as network operators, energy suppliers, regulators and consumers of the public area. They work on studies and research projects, aiming to develop an secure environment and architecture fot Smart GRids in Austria. They should be seen as an international example for future Smart Grid Solutions.
